Keon's Poem

You may not remember me,

That's okay,

We would walk,

Walk, Together,

Everyday

In sixth grade

Seems so long ago

So distant

The feelings I had for you

More than a friendly connection

Someone to share with,

Share everything

My feelings

My every thought

Every emotion

Every event

And yours with me

The shame the others tried to bestow

The same shame I never felt

The unsupportive

Uncertain

And inappropriate classmates

The ones who made fun

And tried to make us feel uncomfortable

But made us laugh

Because their teasing didn’t work

I stood by you

You stood by me

As it should be

As real friends are

The things you opened my eyes to

The things I found out about

When you would talk

Although it was quiet

I would always listen

And remember

Because you were important

Important to me

To my life

And to my discoveries

You may never know your importance

You may not remember me

That's okay

I remember you

Not only was I introduced to you

But you also helped to find me

And that, I will never forget

This is pretty good, I'm amazed it's not more viewed.
