The Key
There is something for which we search
All our sad little lives;
Some meaning to make us happy
Some purpose to make us whole
Something more than a fleeting smile
or laughter shared with friends-
Something we can take to the afterlife
To define us forever.
Call me a romantic
Call me an idealist
Call me what you wish,
But I have found that which
I cannot live without.
I have found my soul,
my body,
myself.
I have found my entire self
and I am please to find it perfect.
I have found the man
whose ribcage I was created from.
I have found eternal love
and absolute adoration
For God and the King He gave me.
Call me dependent
but so are you.
You depend upon your brain to think
and your heart to beat
and your soul to live on.
In this way, I depend on him.
I depend on him as a purpose
to drive me
As a reason
to create the best life possible;
As the key to my happiness.
Mistake me not, human:
You know the key to happiness,
You have always known.
Stop searching
and love unconditionally.
Love when you are angry
and love when you are sad;
Love when you want to scream
and love when you want to hate.
Love when the one you love
fails to show you love
Because your persistence
will bring him back to you.
Love like a way of life
for it is the key
that opens all doors;
Even the gates of heaven.
