The Key to the Front Door
The key to the front door...
Oh wait! Let me see...
Key....
That hard, cold piece of metal that you keep losing
And I keep finding...
Isn't that the one you drive into my ears so often?
I mean the one that you cut out with your words;
The one which you used to open the front door.
You remember the door, don't you?
The red one that had lots of vines and lots of cracks.
You know, the one we had to work on a lot;
Beat it, paint it, fix it, and stick it?
You mean the key to that door?
Well, I lost it.
I got rid of it.
I wanted to.
I don't mean the key you dumbo!
I mean the door...
You see, the door was just in my way.
So I decided to get rid of it.
I tried to kick it down, it didn't work.
I pushed it, pulled it, still nothing...
I tried to axe the door,
I tried to burn it.
But it just stood there staring and glaring right into my eyes.
So I knocked down the entire house.
But the damn door still wasn't gone!!
I was about to give up.
Then Voila! Something happened!
Something fell into my ears...
It drifted to my heart., my eyes saw and my soul burnt.
The fire built up every second of every day;
Until it finally drenched everything,
And a tiny spark flew away and hit the door right in its face!
The whole door just took off...
When in the beginning something started the fire,
I thought it was a pebble,
But now, I see it's a key.
That hard, cold piece of metal that you keep losing
And I kept finding...
Anyways, the door's gone,
so,
just lose the key!
