Keychain

Do I have a nickname that you can use?

For three syllables of diversity

poses as though a riddle to deduce.

The presence of ethnic complexity

feels like the homework I forgot was due

The Starbucks barista surely knows the

struggle too. I know it’s hard to

Swallow. The twist of tongue makes you go- huh?

I’ll never know your struggle of finding

A unique username, or knowing which

One of you was called. Is it hard being

Labeled as ‘mundane’,does it make you twitch?

I mean you get a personal keychain

At least our names won't be forever plain.
