A Key's Design

O small creation of mine

What door shall you open?

Your purpose lays in the movement of my fingers

But your place is not with me

Its out in the world

I shall put you to good use

I am dependent to you as

        Baby is to her mother

My entrance is found only in your abilities

Once we are tried together, its forever

Connected to be found

Yet always forgotten under the couch

And our screeching dulcet alerts our presence

When found a departure is near

Your abilities are useless against me

Many have fallen like the Walls of Jericho

I laugh at the sound of your failure

Now I will be known as your worst enemy

Changes have to be made but your purpose remains

You return to my hands only to remind you who you are

Precious and Resourceful: they shall call you

Let the world know all the doors you can open
