Keys to my Heart
I never thought you’d mean so much,
that you could move me with one touch.
The sound of music fill my ears,
that keeps me playing many years.
The time I spend is not in vain,
I play and practice til I’m in pain.
Over time I’ve learned their ways,
the keys that let me make my plays.
I play you when I’m feeling weak,
you bring my soul back to its peak.
I play when I feel angry,
you can handle all the strength in me,
No one affects me like you do,
and yet you sit there without a clue.
You’re just a box with lots of strings,
about as plain as other things.
I could’ve quit a while ago,
could’ve stopped and just said no,
but when I hear a lovely song,
I’m thankful I can play along.
You’ve awoken my inner love,
unlocked a talent from above.
That is why I love you so,
my perfect, peaceful piano.
