Kiddie Pageants

Where have the days of childhood gone?

Why is simplicity forgotten?

The love of playing with barbies and clothing

Warm, Safe, Happy

Could it be…..

Inconnce within me is gone

Sad, sulken shoulders red eyes

The once bright eye girl crumples, simply deteriorating

As i sit     to think I began to realize this was only fun and games

Everything to boost my self esteem, promote my beauty

Heavy lashes, Caked face, Fake hair…

More

More

Skimpy outfits

Childhood drifts in the wind

Many see as opportunity

I see as “kiddie porn”

We simply strut like animals in a pet shop

Which one is cute?

Oh, I don't like her color?

Mmm… she’s okay

Nothing never was the same

The thoughts that are bounded in our minds

Nothing is ever the same

Everything to boost my self esteem, promote my handsomeness

NO lashes, NO teeth whitening, NO fake hair

None

None

None….

Mannerly dressed

Everything always the same

Girls tight clothing, revealing shirts, beauty products

Boys loose clothing, covering shirts, NO beauty enhancements

So why are we treated like objects?

Why are we subjected to these things?

Innocence within me gone
