The Kids

We live in a society where education is supposed to set us free

Yet the children who most need it are those most lacking

Whom anxiety and malnutrition is imposed on and we don’t even hear their plea

They are the millions, drowning without water, abandoned and left wanting

Yet, false preachers try improving education by blaming schools and teachers

Spending billions while ignoring the creed of a stable home; a task too daunting

National dogma entrenched in quick answers, trying all sorts of new features.

The truth is, for those children burning without a fire, there is no quick answer

Rational minds need to try something new, for the sake of the children’s futures

Time is running out and all these cunning false hopes are like a cancer

We must flee from the illusion of an easy solution and work to end child destitution

Improving education in the process, securing the future of our nation, our armor

Our answer, the answer, my resolution—an end to child destitution

For those who are voiceless we must answer to stop this deadly cancer—this is my resolution
