Kin
Mine eyes once one with ardor’s blaze
A star; thine skies’ reflection
Ts astral hues and lovers’ touch
Damned by a savage affection
But lo, mine eyes hath hardened
A kiss upon my cheek
Thine lips: I do not know-
Iscariot or sweet?
Hell’s ‘ferno be thy master
And pardon be my sin?
Or shattered soul ‘ts fault of mine
Thine heart hath been my kin?
Fault not in eyes that seek thee
Thy word is but a lie
A tear of icy hearts now
Yet I wrestle with goodbye
Thy word; condemned as useless
Tongue as bitter as thy hand
My heart is shattered; broken; dead
My soul but grains of sand
O lo, mine burden is my master
Thy words do not defend
I’m long forsaken; feared forgotten
Tis sorrow at thine end
So Satan’s teeth do rot thee
And pearly gates ablaze
Thine soul sought no redemption
N’er but burden be thy praise
