King Arthur

Pieces of my love were in my hands.

Turning from gold to red - my wedding band.

The sound of his end still rings in my ears.

Bringing to life the worst of my fears.

I, covered in corrupt cotton, stood mightily

Not only to show support for “A Great Society,”

But to show the world what had been done -

How a nation could be changed from a single gun.

The diabolical demon responsible

Found one fatal obstacle.

He was denied a writ of Habeas Corpus

When a gallant gem took its justice.

Resting endlessly in the somber field of green.

Disrupted only by those faces unseen.

Generations will forever remember his name

As he lies beneath the Eternal Flame.
