A Kiss in Heat

Our eyes meet

Nothing needs to be said

We ignore the blistering heat

Our cheeks flush a rosy red

I walk towards my light

You patiently wait for yours

I hold your hand tight

And we stand on sandy shores

I lean in for a kiss

You graciously accept

I lean forward but I miss

A promise you never kept

I wake up in the heat

Once again I lost you

Those days were so sweet

But now all I feel is blue
