Kite
The sun filters in through the window
Creating a prism of light
illuminating me
I am me, I am so much more
My skin and my veins and my organs contain me
My blood boils and travels through my veins and
I struggle to survive on earth
I am more, I am a cup overflowing
I am a leaf dripping with dew and a bird
with a knowing glint in my eye
My heart beats out of my chest
I need to live and I have to grow and
I am too much to settle on earth
In this world there is only me
I am
a kite in the sky
I feel barely here
Because I am
I am more, I am a cup overflowing
I am a leaf dripping with dew and a bird
with a knowing glint in my eye
I am
a kite in the sky
I cannot simply be
I need to live and I have to grow
I am
a kite in the sky
Cut my strings
