The Knife of Disappointment

and there we go

two souls bound together

yet kept apart by tradition

like Shakespeare's stories

we're star crossed lovers

still alive and well

yet scathed

by the sharp blade of reality

when we talk

i'm filled with such joy

my love

you fill me with life

and you are truly one of a kind

but then we get cut

by that same sharp blade

but if loving you means pain

then let it cut us again
