The Knight

You shining knight

Wielding your double-edged sword

Aiming high and fighting to protect me

How often and strong that blade swings

Every threat I face- gone

Any sign of hurt, discomfort

Danger

Your strike true, powerful, fearful

For me, the one in fearing

However

One strike too soon

That sword too reckless

I am the one a wreck

That you left ever broken

I see the concern

Armor blocking multiple blows

However, sometimes it’s better to face these trials

Than to cower behind a soldier made of thoughts

I am left appreciating your protection

Shielding from several situations-

Even before they think to threaten me

Yet there are times

Where you burden me greatly

And I wish to let you and your sword go

To fight for my own

But only when I know the future will later heal me

From strikes where their aim is true

I was editing it on this site (big mistake) and I closed out of it before submitting it on mistake. It got rid of all my progress that I did on the site.
