knight and savior

Sir Kaelan, brave and true, Loved Lady Elara, skies so blue. Her laughter, music to his ear, Her safety, all he held so dear. A shadow fell, a wicked blight, A dragon's roar, a fearsome sight. It snatched her up, a precious prize, And soared towards the stormy skies. Sir Kaelan mounted, swift and bold, His heart a story to be told. His armor gleamed, his sword held high, Beneath the troubled, angry sky. Through thorny woods and mountains steep, His weary, faithful horse did leap. The dragon's trail, a smoky sign, Led to a lair, a dark design. There stood the beast, with scales of night, And Elara, pale in fading light. A knight of shadow, fierce and grim, Stood guard, prepared to challenge him. Sir Kaelan charged, with mighty shout, His courage burned, beyond a doubt. The shadow knight, with venomous stare, Drew forth his blade, a poisoned snare. They clashed and fought, a brutal fray, Steel on steel, throughout the day. The dragon watched, with cruel delight, As Kaelan battled, with all his might. A sudden lunge, a blinding flash, A searing pain, a painful gash. The shadow knight's cold steel did gleam, And pierced Sir Kaelan, like a dream. He stumbled back, his vision blurred, His body weak, his spirit stirred. Blood dripped and stained his shining mail, A whisper soft, a dying wail. But then he saw, her pleading eyes, Beneath the dark and watchful skies. His love for her, a burning fire, Fueled his resolve, his strong desire. He grit his teeth, he pushed the pain, His strength returned, a sudden rain. He would not fall, he would not cease, Until his love found sweet release. He lunged again, with dying breath, Defying darkness, conquering death. His sword found its mark, a final blow, And brought the shadow knight down low. The dragon roared, a furious sound, But Kaelan's deed had turned the ground. He fought the beast, though wounds did bleed, Driven by love, a noble creed. With final strength, he struck the snare, That held Elara in despair. She fell to him, so weak and frail, His mission done, beyond the pale. He held her close, his lifeblood spent, His final breath, a sweet content. For in her eyes, he saw his prize, His love, his life, beneath the skies. She kissed his brow, with tears so warm, And shielded him from every storm. Sir Kaelan, brave, had won the fight, And saved his love, with all his might.
