To know and ...

John 17:1-3

17 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come.

Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, as You have given Him authority over all flesh,

that He should give Eternal Life to as many as You have given Him.

And this is Eternal Life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

To know +

To know God seems impossible ... I don’t even know “myself”

Always hiding parts of me ... the parts I cannot stand

I lock them up in a box somehow ... so I can pretend

That they’re not there at all ... so that I feel better than I am

Unless God shows Himself to me ... how could I understand?

Who He is and what He does ... but on the other hand

If I just saw a glimpse of Him ... my frame just could not stand

It would totally disintegrate ... for I am barely a man

To know God or about Him ... is a Gift through The Lamb

Jesus Christ in Grace proclaimed ... by the Great, I am
