Know That Which Enters

Like the lukewarm guzzle

seeping past my lips,

my thoughts go by me,

not even a breeze bracing.

Wild, they pace.

To rise in veils before dawn,

to give what endures for what ends,

to take what jabs and poke what saves;

It flows as my chin falls,

it drips with bitter aroma

as my eyes turn a blind me.

It’s lost,

and I simply wipe it away,

denying the quenching of its glory.

Do we really know how to cling?

What to?

Forgive me,

but we’re clawing in the sinking paste

of our own humanhood.
