The Known of the Rose

Are we all alone;

wrapping the sheets

over our head just to cover our eyes

from seeing what today is

from what tomorrow will be and

from what yesterdays disaster was

the dead, the alive, and the hidden

why be here, when i can be there, in

that rose, spaced into what eternity has ahead

the peace, the silence, and the living

why hurt

why cry

why hide

Our eyes from the seen:

the injustice, the killings, the lynchings, and

the inequality that lives from history

Are we repeating history? or

Is history repeating itself?

I question the ability we have

we can stop war, but

we cant stop our nation from killing

those that weren't

supposed to be here, they live to

be great, live happily, and peaceful

lets all not be alone, and live

as if we are on that Rose.
