For Kobe

Dear Kobe

When I started watching you

I wanted to be just like you

All those game winners you made

I rolled up my socks while counting down

3...2...1

And shot it trying to imagine hitting a game winner

I wanted to be like you

You inspired me to work

You showed me what true passion was

And for that I thank you

Thank you for what you taught me

Thank you for leaving such a huge impact on the game of basketball

Although you're gone,

I'll never forget you

I'll continue to be that kid shooting trash balls

Counting down the clock

3...2...1

Rest easy Kobe and Gianna
