Koi Fish

i would get Koi fish.

not because they are beautiful,

although they are.

they are free and graceful,

in a way i wish to be.

they move smoothly through water,

as though they'd never touched it.

leaving nothing behind but the silky stares

of awestruck eels and envy filled shrimp.
