Reaching out its covetous hand 100 feet into the sky The Japanese arrowroot grabs every beam of sunlight as it strangles the South Smothering trees and suffocating thistles Herbs and flowers open their leaves, waiting for a ray to trickle down into the mouth Hear it grow
