Because I love you,

I had to leave you

I know it sounds unorthodox

But I swear to you

It will make sense one day

Because I love you,

I'll tell you the truth

Forever and always because

That's what you need

And so, truth be told,

We could never be together

And I think some part of us always knew that

Because I love you,

I'm going to hurt you.

For a while, you're going to miss me

But in the end, it's the right decision.

Because the truth is,

Me leaving is the only way

We'll make it out of this

Alive and unscathed.

Because I love you,

I'm going to tell you

That you have to move on

That you need to move on

Find someone who loves you enough

To make sure your best interests are put

Before even their own

Like I once did

Like I'm doing by leaving.

Because I love you,

I am going to leave.

I won't tell you goodbye.

Because it would be

So much more painful

And I can't cause you anymore pain

Because I love you
