The L word

Tell me I am the sun that wakes you
Breaking the dawn with my light
Tell me I am the lullaby that cradles you
when rest is defiant against you
Tell me I am the warmth that soothes you
when the cold wreaks havoc through you
Tell me I am the image you fall asleep to
then dream dreams only of sweet pleasantries
Tell me I am beautiful
more captivating than any sculpture admired by many
Though do promise me this one thing
do not tell me you love me
For the reason that to love me will be the tragedy of you
to love me will be the end of the light
the music
the warmth
the sweetness
and the beauty that surrounds you
Do not tell me the L word
