The "L" Word Will Not Be Mentioned

Dear Old Friend,

The night I confessed to you I was vulnerable

Every part of my body felt numb

You cleared the skies and showed me sunlight

I wished for a rainy day to never come

The night I told you again,

You said it was already over,

You hurt me again

Your words made me feel like a bother

You treasured me,

Our feelings were so pure

The way you held me firmly,

You made me feel secure

You were the first lips I touched,

Which gave me tingles, felt like magic

I was the happiest I had ever been,

Yet why does the memory seem so tragic?

We haven't talked in months

How can I be friends,

When I want to hold your hand, kiss you,

Tell you 'I never wanted this to end'?

How can a person give another so much pain?

But can give them the world with only three words?

Why won't you talk to me?

Any word I say seems to be unheard

Sincerely,

Ari
