With each one comes a carefully crafted blade
A blade possessed by a surgeon
It carefully glides across my skin changing who I am
Splitting cells that cry red
With each on comes the venom of a poisonous snake
They slither among a silver death trap
It’s tongue tethers up and down grasping the air
Speaking but tearing every bit of my personality
With each one comes a choice ripped from my hands
My fingers clinch around everything
Slowly the words pry those fingers
Until they slowly let go
With each one comes a cancer
It reeks of death and attachment
The cells intertwine around my heart
Until they slowly take over
With each one comes a chunk of lead
The perfect damage by a gunsmith
It rapidly twirls and rips everything in its way
Smashing the bone gristle and flesh that once stood
With each one comes a commercial
The explosive boom of a promise
Cautiously it speaks out to an audience,
Ready to bite every myth offered for sale
With each one comes red headed step child
The tool to hide all blame
Young but different unable to protect themself
Full of shame and resent
With each one comes a different person
Someone who is not me because
I cannot easily be defined by a simple label
Because labels are for those who have no strength to defy each one
