The Labyrinth

Driving from town to town I learn these places names Their streets, their people, and learn to play their games I grow to love the glow of the light Entering the heart of the city at night Ive never known comfort to the point where its my home Ive never had friends to the point where im not alone Praying and searching for the city my heart can reside praying and searching let the pain to subside New york Atlanta, Come sweep me away from Costa mesa, Santa Ana, Anywhere would be okay Even if for a night, I'm used to a short stay All I've got is my heart, sorry i cant pay This time I Dont feel welcome, could be I never was My bags always packed, time to shake off the dust I know Im young but Im looking for the open door This dome can't be it, there has to be more North Dakota, Michigan each stole my heart I want a new state seems I need a fresh start Some place where no one has seen my face Some place where no one knows My mistakes Singing and dancing auditioned into my heart But i should of seen shes trouble from the start cant say i regret the time ive spent From all of this my heart has been bent Driving around no looking back Driving around covering my tracks Town to town escaping the past Town to town out of the labyrinth At last
