The Lady of Ballet

Walking into an empty room

Speakers let out a roaring boom,

Casting away the hard days gloom

Dancers ambitions start to bloom

The arms of ballerinas sway.

Rapidly tying up pointe shoes,

Toes bleeding and form a bruise,

Looking towards swans for a muse

The Lady of Ballet.

Lacing up a forestry gown,

So focused that there is no sound,

An upright tutu held her bound

Accepting that she will be crowned

The heads of ballerinas sway.

Trying to breakout of her box,

Pinning up her golden locks

Pressure from a group of hawks

The Lady of Ballet.

Red puffy eyes that spill out tears

Coming to the surface are fears,

Wanting to impress her close peers

Debating if there will be cheers

The legs of ballerinas sway.

Butterflies come to pay their debt

Nerves inside begin to set

Wiping her brow of cold sweat,

The Lady of Ballet.

Center stage faced with a spotlight,

Choosing to put up a tough fight

Clinging to great memories tight

To perform a move that's just right

The hands of ballerinas sway.

Applause echoes throughout the stage,

A swan breaks out of her cage

Receiving roses backstage,

The Lady of Ballet.
