The Lake

It was night when we first went,

To that lake in our town.

You'll never know how much it meant,

To be with our small group.

We promised that night,

At that lake in our town,

To do it again sometime,

Even though we were college bound.

Will we see each other again?

At that lake in our town?

The past says, "of course when?"

The future holds the murky unknown.
