The Lake

If i could go back in time.
I would buy a boat.
I would drive that boat across a lake somewhere.

Nice and Early in the morning
it will be brisk out
but it will feel nice
I'll turn off the motor, and let it drift across the lake's surface for another few meters
As the boat rocks to a halt, I'll take out a fishing rod, some bait, and a nice pair of sunglasses
I'll cast my rod into the water
and wait

wait

wait

I'll get a bite on the line, and soon i'll be fighting a fish
but fight is too violent a word
it is more of a dance
we waltz, we tango, we line dance
soon, our song draws to a close
and I pull my partner in for their final bow

Ill take a moment to catch my breath before releasing the fish back into the water
In a second, he is gone from my sight
Nothing remains, except the ripples on the surface of the water
