Lake Crescent - Sinking

I am here and you are there

I would be lying if I’d say, “I don’t yearn to see you.”

It is beautiful knowing that there is no weight when thinking of you,

That you are pursuing the life that brings meaning for you

and that writing to you is as easy as

sinking into the sapphire abyss…

Willingly,

freely,

coldly…

with an ecstatic vigor

to swim back to its surface.

I smile,

breathe,

And let go once more…

I lucidly sink into the cobalt blue

Eyes now closed and looking within

The light gets dimmer and I

buoyantly heavier.

Calmly I open my eyes and it is ethereally blue

and find myself

writing to you.
