all of a sudden it’s the end of the summer

and we’re still together

is it getting better?

do you feel the same?

would you tell me you’re happy

if i told you i’m happy

if i said i wished you would stay?

would you still want to run

would you not even miss me

(i know that you want to, don’t have to tell me you’re reckless)

because i’m always at least ten percent ready

for you to tell me to leave

is this real?

not the way that i thought i’d be asking

but is this real?

throw my cards on your table, my eggs in your basket

just ask it.

let it breathe a little, let the universe tell me

is this where i’m needed?

is she where i’m headed?

watching, waiting

seconds/hours away

preparing to bloom.
