Lamentation of Imagination

Forced to draw within the lines As a kid using a coloring book, Your straitjacket of tedium that confines. Prevailing hegemony that undermines Stringing your mind up with hooks, Forced to draw within the lines. The individual is not the one who defines, Emulate the design of how everything looks, Your straitjacket of tedium that confines. The imagination of children resigns Store that wonderment in secluded nooks, Forced to draw within the lines. Another day will be when creativity shines Until then fantasize through visionary books, Your straitjacket of tedium that confines. Soon divergence will be what redefines But for now the overseer that overlooks Forced to draw within the lines, Your straitjacket of tedium that confines.
