This Is the Land
This is the land your light can no longer reach
Through the mist, your beams cannot breach
The fields, once green, now enshrouded in gray
The blossoms, pristine, now in disarray
This is the land your light has forsaken
For the dusk soon enough has overtaken
This land, my being, my deepest soul
For but few precious moments did you console
The moon is not enough for me
The stars, concealed by mist
So when this darkness overcomes me
Of the sun I reminisce:
Oh, I long for the glow
Of your rays of gold
That warmed me
And let me see
the beauty of the world
For once
