Land Beyond the Sea

This gracious land beyond the sea
Foretold by prophets to be near
A land far better than you’ll be.

A time has passed but all I see
Are kingdoms lost–forgotten yet “dear,”
This gracious land beyond the sea.

The lucky ones with Golden Keys,
They talk without a weight to bear,
Of lands far better than you’ll be.

The fathers, sons all berating me
Because of lore from crackpot seers.
This gracious land beyond the sea.

The Blind pursue their lords to lands
Of those whose names that moons revered,
A land far better than you’ll be.

Why not you, Earth? They wish to flee
To lands so worshipped, yet so queer–
This “gracious” land beyond the sea,
A land “far better” that you’ll be.
