Land of Death
Vast was soil that bore no bite
Famished was the folk who ate none
Never wanting to leave the land
Showed that the unwell would pass on
Generations of afflictions
Never restored health to the land
The land never satisfying
Had taken its toll on the mass
In came one who could reheal
One with a remedy and hope
But who arrived overdue and
Only saw the end of darkness
Unanswered are questions of why
If only they had left the land
If only the healer came fast
Maybe hope could have been restored
