I stay up waiting.

My phone next to a cup of anxiety I was served

Cause you can’t have coffee

It’ll keep you up at night

But it’s midnight and I’m up

I’m waiting for a text that might not come.

You say go to bed

You need your rest

But how can I rest

When My friend won’t text back.

It sounds silly

It sounds unimportant.

Until you realize my friend

Threaten to kill themselves once.

Once you hear that you stay up

Waiting for that text

Make sure they are okay

Make sure we’re okay

And if I have emotions left

I make sure I’m okay.

Which I’m not.

I feel like I walk on eggshells

Making sure I don’t set off a bomb

cause if I do

who knows when my next text will be
