In a Land Not So Far Away

Location

Kenya

Cinderella dressed in blue

Did not, in fact, forget her shoe.

Racing away from the ball,

She let a letter to the prince fall.

She wanted to work on improving the kingdom day by day.

She dreamed of a land with equal pay.

She was fed up with groups being shoved away.

She asked for the kingdom to consider her

With these innovative ideas to be the next ruler.

Arich merchant laughed and said,

"THAT"S WRONG!

Even if she were the fiarest maiden which, she's not, she wouldn't belong!

Running the castle is obviously a man's job.

Perhaps you all saw that I too am running, go follow my blog!"

Pretty soon the clock struck 12 am.

The princess was exposed and it was sudden mayhem.

When the townspeople heard about the spell,

It didn't go over very well.

The merchant told them she was a traitor who had lied,

And that her personal life shouldn't be something to hide.

In the meantime the merchant bullied the castle hands.

But some people loved hearing his extreme commands.

So they made him a king and he ordered to build up the castle wall.

When Cinderella just wanted to help them all.

So when it was time to find the maiden who had written the letter,

The story had to be changed to something "better"

Because a happy ending was what everyone should want.

And the merchant king believed he had greatness to flaunt.

And as for the prince, well,

he found Cinderella,

But he already knew

The people weren't ready for more than a shoe.
