Land was never a home,
Land was never a home, but it was a dream. She was one-half man, she felt its draw.
Warned gravely of its physical dangers by all, she ignored these pleadings thoughtfully.
She escaped these folklores, she fled them, fastidiously dispensing all of these notions.
They were wrong, she knew. But, here she had arrived to her dreamland.
She looked like them, she talked like them, but something was different.
She knew it, they knew it. She felt disconnected.
So, she went back knowing, having seen the beauty of not belonging nor to land or to sea.
