A land without friends

2 The kings of the earth form a united front;
the rulers collaborate
against the Lord and his anointed king.

European Union … Satire

My sister went to Greece in search of fleas

She came back in a hurry empty-handed

The critters were gone to find a new home

Away from sand and sea not to be stranded

What a chance they wound up in France

and sucked up lots of blood in confusion

They lived at a table of the country’s unstable

as they absorbed ideas formed in delusions

Now every hour they’re dreaming of power

that somewhere in the past they possessed

A land without friends caught in underpants

now the subject of jokes of the remaining rest

Now Germany and France embraced in a dance

one cannot let go of the other

Both now are pleased having lots of fleas

with no one around to really bother
