Language

Dear Language,

You help me:

To describe with words

The colors of sea birds.

To inspire others through verse,

Whether they be long-winded or terse.

To express my fears

In unknown frontiers.

To communicate with others -

My friends, sisters, and brothers.

To cause others to laugh

In a short sentence or paragraph.

In my confusion to ask

How to complete a puzzle or task.

To cause others to fiddle

When telling them a riddle.

You help me with many things -

With communication to common men and kings.

And so, Language, I thank you

For allowing me to say,

To write, and portray

To anyone anything I want to
