My languages are tree,
And dey define me.

Cajun is de language dat dances off my tongue;
It’s de one dat I’ve known since I was young.

It’s like any udder language, dis one or de nex;
Dem people and udders dink it’s similar to Tex Mex.

Cajun dat means a French, English mix;
Alota people say it’s de language of hicks.

Chee wez dey don’t even know me or what I do;
How can dey judge me or know how smart I am too?

Just because I talk like dis, shouldn’t leave an impression;
Go ahead axe me anything, axe me an academic question.

I can use dis language with my shaas and family.
Can you imagine dat many people speaking like dis, galee!

Dere’s names like beb dat are oh so nice,
And dere’s udders like paanyas dat are full of spice.

Dere’s a saying dat Cajuns dink is as sweet as crem brulee;
It goes “Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler”.

De Cajun language is aparta who I am;
If you except dat let me hear a yes ma’am! ®
