Language is a Portal

Language is a portal

Carrying speakers to another world

A different culture with different words

Always Immortal

How many ways to say hello

Bonjour, hola, nĭ hăo

Every word that means farewell
Auf Wiedersehen, good bye, hwyl

Transports us to another’s life

Through language, we get a glimpse

Of what it means to be global citizens

And broaden our worldview just a little
