Last

The last I dreamt of her

Brushstrokes of tattered wisps flitted against my cheeks

Phantom sparks skittered across twice-burnt matchsticks

Jostling an elusive, slumbering Pandora

Spilled paint pools beneath my limbs

Escaped from an iron bucket worn of time and tears

As holy as a heart once baptized and thrice damned

All in the same breath

A berth of galaxies, lightly tread

With nothing but the dimmest sense coveted by Nobody's fool

A reflection's distortion's reproduction held as steadfast as wind

I once held her close
