The Last Day

A kiss on the cheek as soft as a cotton ball

and an “I love you” that spoke louder than all other words

was what I was left with;

Not even fully awake

but knowing I would see you later

was all that mattered

or so I hoped

He was my bestfriend I was his “baby”

We had a relationship that could not bend

But who knew that would be the last day he’d here me call his name

Sitting there hoping that I could go with you

to do whatever it was you did was all that I wanted to do

The waters were high, if only I could have heard his cry

But who knew that would be the last day he’d hear me call his name

Time went by

 no call and no text

Then the phone rang, but it wasn’t you

But I’m just knew that your call would be the next

“There’s been an accident” was the call

To hear those words brought me with  from a great fall

My bestfriend was gone! and drawn to the heavens

But who knew that would be the last day he’d hear me call his name

As time flew, I grew

Grew to be this girl

That was unstoppable.

No one could stop me - not even a plea.

Times were hard, but life went on.

Becoming the young lady I am today

Beautiful and strong was where I belonged.

A beautiful flower as tall as a tower, was the result of all my pain

It may have been hard, but I never let down my guard.

losing my bestfriend was only the beginning of finding the real me.

The amazing me.

And now I know that this wont be the last time

He’ll hear me call him

“Daddy” !
