The Last Night

Laying my head down tonight

I need to rest

My heart is heavy

I wish you could hear me

I wish you could see me

Laying here

I wonder a lot

How much you remember

How much I forgot

I wonder what the hell

I was even thinking

When I gave away

All my time

To you

Tell me again

I've got everything to fight for

When I'm wasting away

Tell me one last time

This won't end

In a lie

That I won't

Hear myself whisper goodbye

Tell me

Like you mean it

That you love me

And will do

Whatever you have to

To get back to me

Make it right

Because I can't live this way

I can't spend another night

Like this one

So make it real

Make it right

I feel it slipping away

Day by day

You said

You promised me

You said so many sweet things

And I believed in every one

And now look at me

I come undone

For the last time

The tears

They burn

And I hate you

For leaving me here

Alone in the dark

Reaching for a ghost

An almost

Not quite there

An almost

So end it

Cut the limb off

A clean break

If that's the only way

If you and I

Have tired every option

And road

And you just don't know

You just don't get it

Then forget it

Forget us

Because I put my trust

In you

And all it got me

Was let down

And I can't go back

I can't undo

What you were to me

All the years

The fight

Every single night

You held me

I want it all back

But tonight

Is the last night

I lose sleep over you
