"Last Poem and Psalm"

All I want to do is write Until they recite my verses Do away with curses Maybe I'll live on thru rhythms, blue's, Colored hues. All I want is to write Until they recite Take up wings in Flight Expanding their Sight beyond Graveyards the evening news & social welfare statistics. All I want is to write Let them recite Write the wrongs Make them Into Spirit Songs. Write til Freedom Comes. All for the Sake of Poetry..... Kevin Guru's last song.....

I am a native of Atlanta, Georgia, and been writing poetry since the age of 16.Poetry turned the painof my life into a zeal for words to express the pain in my life. I graduated from Benjamin Elijah Mays High School in heart of Atlanta. I received a Bachelor's of Science in Child and Family Development from Georgia Southern University December of 2001. I've always felt a that a life of service to others is paramount, which led to my career as a Social Services Case Manager with Ga Department of Human Resources in child protection.
