The Last Step

The human is still struggling

Slavery was ended... we overcame that

Discrimination still stands in the way

Seeking different forms it can make of itself

Women were given free rights- rose above it

But some still suffer in the dark it surrounds them in

Isolated in groups based off of being their true self

Innocent lives struggling to hold on

To the ways they were taught to grow up from

trusted family

Based off of beliefs they are keeping to themselves

Still punished for it

Physically and emotionally

Punished for not speaking

Simply because others view them as different

Not even considering that they are viewed as

different themselves

The human, the world

Is one place

Of love, but full

Of hate

Lets's end discrimination for all

For it is the last step

To releasing the true meaning

Of freedom

And happiness.
