This is the last time.

This is the last time.

My family means so much more.

Yet why is it that I'm willing to spend every last dime

On something that hurts me and makes all who love me's hearts so sore?

There is such a fight every day

To stop this demon that overwhelms my mind

And crushes any chance of my daughters to stay

As they wait for me to come back, the real me they fail to find.

To go back and erase this accumulation of addiction

That has built up all these years

Would stop the distrust and confliction

And the constant flow of tears.

I can't stop though.

I wish I could so bad.

But stopping is like stepping barefoot on the ice cold snow.

All of this is so frustrating and confusing, I can't help but get mad.

And so the cycle will continue to go,

While my family continues to become more distant.

If only there were some way I could show

That the cure for me is nonexistent.

Now my body is losing its usual energy,

And I fall victim to alcohol's treachery.
