Last Winter

Forgotten on the road last winter you promised to leave me alone

I'm hypothermic from your frost and bleeding out from broken bones

I'm mortified and my whole existence has become a constant mass of pain

And you are so repellent to my tears you overlook me like an umbrella in the rain

I'm clutching the dry dirt slowly watching my tears turn it into mud while you vanish faster and faster

My heart won't release and the daydreams will not cease and of course I fail when I try to secure myself with plaster

Every wish I am ever granted is wasted wondering if you would come visit me

Then I cry til I suffocate and none of my wishes are blessed because I know that you and I were not meant to be
