last year

A great year it was,

For me terrible because.

The glory and glamour I faced,

Your tears and self-pity erased.

My success undeniable,

But it was you who found me not viable.

The brightest smile and loudest laugh,

Masked behind closed doors on your behalf.

Once I cut myself free,

yes, at first there was liberty.

But then came the flood,

My tears like an open wound of blood.

Failing to cease,

In these I found my peace.

It was right before I drowned,

The ailment of it all I found.

The root however, took longer to infect,

Self disection before you could interject.

When the time came,

It was clear in your shame.

To all who knew,

Thought nothing of the sorts.

But it was me, before you,

That could resolve these discords.
